It’s lightweight and genuinely stackable — the shoulder rests slide out and the units nest together — so you can clear a multi-purpose room in minutes, which group-class timetables love. The patented Retractable Rope System with recoiling reels is the detail instructors notice: quick to adjust and great for range of motion. Why You Should Consider a Merrithew Reformer
Merrithew is the Rolls-Royce of reformers — exceptionally well-built, hugely respected, and well known in the UK despite being a North American brand. It’s now the parent company of Align Pilates, though the two hold slightly different positions in the market, with Merrithew sitting at the premium end. The trade-off is aesthetic flexibility: these are aluminium-framed machines finished in black as standard rather than wood or a wide colour palette, so they won’t suit every studio look — but as a pure quality unit, they’re about as solid as they come.
